How to pick the correct chain length

Jewelry has come a long way. Today there are no limits when it comes to design or budget!  But how to know what to where when the choices are nearly endless?  This quick guide is here to help.

When it comes to a bold necklace, it's all about the length.  Having it hit the right spot on your neck can make or break the outfit!

Multiple long strands ranging form 30" to 34" look great when wearing a higher necked shirt like a mock turtleneck.  A solid color makes the perfect backdrop for some amazing strands.

A great everyday necklace will sit right on your color bone.  The length necessary depends on the size of your neck.  Most necklaces are 16" to 20" long.  A great way to determine your perfect necklace length, is to measure the circumference of your neck and add two inches.  Lockets, pendant and strands of pearls look great at this length.

When you are looking for a really great, glam look, a choker is the way to go.  Dramatically highlighting your neck, it is a great way to dress up a little black dress.  It looks especially great with lower necklines or strapless dresses.

With all the choice available, picking the perfect necklace can be a bit daunting.  Follow this tips and you'll always be in style!

Tips Butterfly Decorations Girl's Room

So is there a special little girl whose bedroom you want to DIY into a Butterfly Haven?  You have come to the right place!

The hardest part is over.  You've picked a theme!  Now it's time to get to work.

First pick a wall color.  I'm really loving Sherman Williams Blue Sky (SW 0063).  It's light and airy and makes me think of a that first warm spring day.  I can almost smell flowers!  Find it here!

Now it's time for a craft or two.  Shadow boxes make an easy and interesting piece of wall art, but before you get out your net and head to the local park, try your local craft store first.  AC Moore, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and other stores have a lot of three dimension butterflies that can be artfully placed in shadowboxes.  Check out this example from www.midwestliving.com.

A cheap and easy project is to make your own flock of paper butterflies.  My Decoupaged Life has a great tutorial outlining how to so this.  All you need is cardstock, the free template, good scissors and adhesive to attach them to the wall.  The result is nothing less than inspiring.  Get the easy step by step directions here.

A third way to make your butterfly room really pop is to include your little lady in the art design.  Make some butterfly canvas prints using those little feet as the wings.  Use whatever colors compliment your room choice.  Your tiny wonder will love seeing her masterpiece on her wall!
